Growing a flower, how to plant it in open ground

For the successful cultivation of an ornamental crop, you need to know when and where to plant seedlings, as well as how to properly care for them.

To preserve varietal characteristics, cuttings are used, which are recommended to be purchased in specialized stores.

Important! Growing a rose with seeds does not give any guarantee that varietal characteristics will be preserved.

The culture actively grows in well-lit areas, but direct sunlight will cause burns. Plants need to be planted exclusively in the warm season, when the probability of frost occurrence is still or has already passed. It is possible to plant seed in summer, but on condition that the root system is closed.

The planting pit must be prepared in advance, it must withstand at least two weeks. Suitable recess size 1.5 * 1.5 meters. For 1 seedling, an additional 3 buckets of leafy earth, 2 buckets of peat and 1 bucket of sand are taken.

Planting algorithm:

  1. Prepare the pit.
  2. Water it.
  3. The seedling is lowered into the pit.
  4. The cavity is covered with soil.
  5. Watering is repeated.

At the end, the soil of the near-stem circle is huddled, the mulch is laid from mowed grass and rotted manure.

Plant care

To maintain health, it is important to regularly weed the plant, remove weeds and loosen the soil, and do not forget about pruning and feeding. In the first year after planting, the buds are removed from the stem; with the arrival of August, no more than two flowers can be left on each shoot.

During the flowering of the plant, the soil should always remain moist. If there is no precipitation, then you need to water the plant twice a week.

When properly cared for, musk roses will brighten the landscape

Bushes grow actively in ordinary garden soil, but on fertile soil they delight the owners with more lush flowering. For pruning, only sanitary is required. This is due to the fact that the buds are formed on the shoots of the second and third order.

Important! Throughout the entire flowering, you need to remove the faded brushes.

Blooming rose

Flowers do not form on annual shoots, they must be at least 2-3 years old. The most abundant flowering is observed during the second wave, when lateral branches are formed on the basal branches, which also bloom.

Flower propagation

Roses can be bred by dividing the bush, layering and cuttings. The most common way is the latter. The seedlings are harvested shortly after the first flowering. Only mature shoots of adult representatives can be used as seed.

The optimum cutting length is 8 cm, the lower leaves are removed. Next, the material is placed in a root system growth stimulator for a day, after which it is thoroughly washed under running water and planted in sod-humus soil.

Diseases, pests and ways to control them

Hybrid musk roses have strong immunity, so they are practically not exposed to diseases and attacks of pests. When a bush is affected by caterpillars or aphids, it is irrigated with an insecticide solution. If a symptom of the development of powdery mildew is found, fungicides are used.

Powdery Mildew Damage to Musk Rose

Unfortunately, not all growers have yet appreciated all the positive qualities of musk roses. But this is a matter of time, because the lush flowering and pleasant aroma can leave few people indifferent.
