The color of the bud changes depending on the stage of flowering. At first, the plant is dark pink, in the middle of flowering it becomes soft coral with a light border, and at the end it acquires a pale pink hue.
Peduncles of this flower rise up to 95 cm. Leaves are medium-sized, dark green in color, they are few in number and narrowed towards the top. The decorativeness of the bush remains throughout the season. On one peduncle, several large buds are formed, which reach 17-18 cm in diameter. Their structure is cupped. The petals are semi-double to the touch, gathering in a dense middle.
Peony Coral Charm belongs to winter-hardy plants.
Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
The main advantages of the flowers of this variety include an attractive appearance, a strong and high stem, which allows you not to tie up the plant, as well as decorativeness that persists for a long time.
As for the shortcomings, this flower practically does not have them. The only thing that is noted is the late flowering.
Use in landscape design
For the magnificent and amazing peonies of Coral Charm, there is a place in absolutely any garden. Both single and group plantings look most impressive against the background of a bright lawn. Roses, clematis and phlox are ideal neighbors. Miniature mountain pines and junipers are interestingly combined with peonies.
Growing a flower
To grow a healthy and beautiful plant, it is important to choose the right seedling. When buying planting material, you must carefully inspect.
Planting by root cuttings
Before planting a flower, you must first prepare the pits. The distance between them must be at least one meter. The depth of the seat should not be more than 5-6 cm.
The landing pit is prepared in advance, approximately three weeks before the planned landing.
Boarding time and seat selection
Experienced flower growers plant peonies in late summer - early autumn. Planting in the spring is not recommended. Since peonies of this variety can grow in one place for about 10 years, the choice of a site should be approached carefully and responsibly. Preference should be given to sunny and well-sheltered places. Also, water should not stagnate there. Flowers on the east side feel great.
How to prepare the soil and flower for planting
Experienced flower growers try to prepare the planting hole a month before planting the plant. Its diameter and depth should be at least 60 cm. As soon as the pit is ready, it is required to pour drainage on its bottom, as well as a prepared soil mixture.
The soil should be fertile and not sour. The following composition is considered the most optimal:
- one part of peat;
- one part of humus;
- one piece of sand;
- one piece of clay.
Planting procedure step by step
When planting a peony, you must adhere to a certain algorithm. If during the time the substrate managed to settle, you need to add garden soil. In this case, one should not overdo it, since the buds located on top of the rhizome should be deepened from the soil surface by no more than 5 cm.
After deepening, the rhizome is sprinkled with soil, which is carefully compacted. The seedling is watered with water or a weak solution of manganese. One hole requires about 8 liters of water. The final step is mulching the hole.
Plant care
Lush flowering can only be achieved through proper care, which should be carried out regularly.
Watering and feeding
Caring for the Coral Charm milk-flowered peony must necessarily include weekly watering. After planting, for the first two years, fertilizers are not applied to the soil, since the flower receives everything it needs from the hole. After this period, top dressing is systematically introduced into the soil. This should be done three times a year:
- in early spring;
- during the budding period;
- after flowering two weeks later.
For top dressing, first use wood ash, then a solution of mullein or bird droppings. Finish with the introduction of superphosphate.

The peony begins to bloom in June. During the flowering period, the garden is filled with a sweetish alluring aroma.
A period of activity and rest
The dormant period begins with the appearance of the first frost. At this time, the stems are cut to 2-4 cm above the ground, and also mulched with peat. In the spring, everything is carefully removed, and the plant begins to develop rapidly.
Care during and after flowering
During flowering, caring for a flower is no different from other periods. After flowering at the first frost, the plant is cut off.
What to do if it does not bloom
The lack of flowering can be attributed to many factors. For example, the reason may be an unsuccessful planting site or too young age of the flower. In the first case, a transplant will help to cope with the problem, and in the second, only time is needed.
Peonies after flowering
As soon as the peony fades, a very important period of life begins. At this time, the plant prepares for winter and recovers its strength. Therefore, the further state and development of the plant depends on how correctly the care is organized during this period of time.
Transfer
If a peony transplant is planned, then, according to the descriptions of this variety, autumn is considered the most favorable period. The most important thing is to carefully prepare the soil and transplant the flower correctly.
Pruning and preparing for winter
Autumn is considered the time of pruning peonies. Moreover, all activities must be carried out as soon as the first frost occurs. Shoots should be cut at soil level.
If the flower is grown in a region with harsh winters, then preparation for winter consists in mulching and sheltering the plant. In the southern regions, such events are not needed.
Diseases, pests and ways to control them
Coral Sharm peonies are distinguished by good immunity. But if you do not follow the cultivation technique and improperly care for the flower, pests such as roundworms, bronzes and aphids can affect it. Also, the flower can be subject to rot, curliness and powdery mildew. You can get rid of pests with the help of fungicides.
The real threat to the peony is the rootworm nematode. You can cope with such a problem by uprooting, burning the flower and disinfecting the soil. Only in this case it is possible to protect other plants in the neighborhood from being damaged by this pest.
