Abutilon is a flower with leaves like maple. The culture is a representative of the Malvov family and has nothing to do with the specified tree. On the territory of Russia, the plant appeared relatively recently, in natural conditions it grows in African, Latin American and South Asian countries.

The surface of the petals of a bluish-lilac shade is sometimes decorated with dark blotches. The buds bloom in May.
Hybrid
The maple leaf plant is authored by American breeders. Other variety names are Darwin's abutilon or a hybrid of variegated abutilon. It belongs to evergreen shrubs, reaching 1.5 m. Shoots are covered with brownish bark. Green leaves consist of 3-5 lobes, they are covered with soft fluff. Foliage up to 12 cm long. Bell-shaped and lowered buds of golden, white, reddish or burgundy color. They grow up to 50 mm.

Known as the weeping Chinese lantern. The bush stretches up to 1.5 m. It has thin and drooping shoots. The leaf plates are elongated-oval, bright green tones with irregular denticles along the edges and up to 0.8 cm long. On long pedicels there are single buds with a tubular-ribbed corolla of a rich scarlet hue. Petals are yellowish, with a reddish spot at their base.

The shrub is characterized by short and soft stems. Leaves cordate with 3-6 lobes serrate along the edge. The plates are not pubescent, uneven white spots are located along the borders.Long pedicels emerge from the leaf sinuses, on which bell-shaped buds with a golden corolla decorated with reddish veins are localized. The buds bloom from August to September.

It resembles a hybrid variety, differs in weak branching, grows up to 2 m. On straight branches, pubescence is present, the plates have elongated and pointed lobes. Lavender petals are complemented by pink blotches. The first flowers bloom with the arrival of July, the beauty ends in the second week of December.

It stands out among other species by striped golden-pinnate leaf plates. The variety is cultivated as an ampelous plant because of its graceful and long stems.

The plant must be protected from direct sunlight. It feels good in the shade of southern windows. During flowering, the pot is taken out onto the terrace or balcony. In warm summers, the culture can be on the site in the shade of trees.
