How to feed roses with yeast - is it possible as a fertilizer

Roses, like other plants, require close attention and care as they grow. A suitable planting site, lighting and drainage are just basic needs. These shrubs are quite capricious plants, so many novice gardeners find it difficult to cope with them. Despite this, if you know some information on their feeding, you can significantly increase their color in the hot season. This material will tell you how to feed roses with yeast, whether it can be done and how exactly such feeding is carried out.

Feeding roses with yeast

In order for roses to receive a large amount of nutrients during growth, it is necessary to feed them with yeast. In the absence of an abundance of nutrients in the soil, plant growth will be significantly slowed down, and flowering will become weak and short-lived. In addition, weak rose bushes will not be resistant to pests and will not be able to take root normally in a new place if transplanted.

A yeast rose supplement ideal for outdoor plants

The benefit of feeding with yeast is that it helps to strengthen the plant's immunity. This allows the flowers to defend against various diseases and viruses. In addition, yeast stimulates the growth of the stem, shoots and root system.

Important! Yeast has a positive effect not only on plants, but also on the soil. Thanks to them, beneficial soil microbes begin to work in full force, producing even more organic matter and converting them into humus.

Yeast can be purchased at any grocery store. They are inexpensive and completely safe for gardeners, and the benefits can be enormous.

The fertilizer preparation procedure is very simple.

Yeast dressing recipe

Yeast is a single-celled fungus that grows and multiplies extremely quickly. Top dressing of bush roses based on them is made according to several main methods. In this case, not only dry yeast is used, but also wet yeast.

Feeding roses with fresh yeast

One of the most popular and effective recipes is to use fresh yeast, which is usually sold in briquettes. They look like rectangles of processed cheese. To make top dressing from a fresh version you will need:

  • 100 grams of fresh yeast;
  • 1 liter of water at room temperature;
  • deep capacity;
  • a pinch of sugar or other sugar-containing products: jam, honey, candy, jam.

The entire list of ingredients must be mixed in a deep container and wait for the fermentation process. After that, pour the contents into a 5 liter bucket and add water up to the brim. Then this substance is poured under the root of the rose, one liter per bush.

Important! It should be noted that such dressing is not subject to long-term storage, so it must be applied immediately after preparation. Also, it is not worth doing these actions often.

Wet yeast

Dry yeast recipe

There is another recipe based on the use of the dry version in a sachet. For cooking you will need:

  • 10 grams of baker's yeast;
  • 10 liters of water at room temperature;
  • deep capacity;
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar.

For cooking, it is necessary to mix all the ingredients, wait for fermentation, add an additional 10 liters of water to disperse the composition, and feed it at the root of the plant.

Yeast with herbal tincture

To prepare a yeast mixture based on a herbal mood, you will need:

  • weed grass;
  • deep capacity;
  • water;
  • humate concentrate or phytosporin;
  • dry yeast - 200 grams.

It is necessary to put a lot of weed in a prepared container, fill it with water and leave for 2-3 weeks for natural fermentation to occur.

After fermentation is over, you need to remove the herb from the container and add a concentrate of humane or phytosporin there. While stirring, add 200 g of dry yeast and dilute the finished solution in 10 liters of water.

Dry yeast

How to feed roses with yeast and sugar

The most common and effective way to make healthy nutrition is to use yeast and sugar or sugar-containing foods. The bottom line is that organic food is needed for these microscopic fungi to activate and reproduce faster. Most of all, they "love" sugar and other sweet foods.

For the manufacture of fertilizers, you will need all the same ingredients:

  • Dry or wet yeast.
  • A couple of teaspoons of sugar or jam. You can also use honey.
  • A container with one liter of ordinary water. Its temperature should be neutral for a person (as in an apartment): approximately 24 degrees.

The "cooking" process looks like this:

  1. Put the mushrooms in a bucket or bowl of water and add sugar there.
  2. Wait for the mixture to ferment.
  3. Pour a liter of suspension into a larger container. Five liters will be sufficient.
  4. Top up empty volume with water.

Fertilizers are ready. Now you can water them with roses, counting on the rule: one liter - one shrub.

Important! The main thing is not to overdo it, since fertilizers, even if they are natural, are unnecessary and can negatively affect the development of the plant.

Feeding roses with yeast and ash

As it became clear, yeast has an extremely positive effect on roses and other plants. They are able to improve the structure of the stem and flowers, saturate the soil and rose cells with nitrogen, mineralize organic substances in the soil and accelerate the formation of useful humus from them.

Ash contributes to the replenishment of elements such as potassium and calcium in the soil. They are constantly washed out of the soil by frequent watering, and the plant does not receive enough of them.

Making fertilizer is harder than buying ready-made fertilizer

If you combine these two components together, you get an even better and healthier fertilizer. It is prepared in the same way as described for dry and wet yeast. The only difference is that ash is also placed in the container. The latter can be simply sprinkled on the area near the root of the bush, and then pour it all over with a composition of yeast

Ready-made preparations containing yeast

The beneficial qualities of the product in question can also be manifested when using special fertilizers that contain yeast. Below is a list of the most popular ones:

  • Radiance. Cost from 150 to 350 rubles *.
  • Baikal EM-1. The cost is around 300 rubles.
  • Economist Bioconstructor. The cost is within 420 rubles.
  • Vostok EM-1. The cost is 250 rubles.

Important! The qualitative difference between such compositions from home ones is that they contain special soil fungi that better fertilize the soil and improve the appearance of plants.

How to properly water roses with yeast

For any annual or perennial plant, an excess of fertilizer is just as harmful as a lack of it. That is why, when making such home solutions, it is recommended not to exceed the concentration of the active ingredient. Also, do not water and fertilize the flowers too often. This negatively affects the composition of the soil.

"Baikal EM-1" will help fertilize flowers

Thus, it was considered how to feed roses with yeast and what recipes you can use. It is worth noting that not only roses can be fertilized with such a composition, but also other plants growing in the open air. It also does not matter when the process will take place: in spring or summer (in June, July or August). Can be fertilized even in late autumn.
